Curing a slice: a proven 4-step formula

This article provides golfers with a proven 4-step formula for curing a slice. This formula has been successfully used to cure golfers' slice problems from all around the world.

Want a proven formula to curing your slice? Well, here is the exact formula I've used to cure literally thousands of golfers' slice problems from all around the world. And without any further delay, here are the 4 things you must do to help you curing a slice in the quickest possible time:

1. Setup for a draw
2. Swing from the inside so the ball starts to the right (for a right handed golfer) of your final target
3. Contact the ball with a slightly closed clubface
4. Have equipment that encourages you to draw the ball

This list of 4 things is generally the opposite of what every golfer does to hit a slice. For example, when a right handed golfer suffers from a slicing problem, they generally aim to the left to allow for a slice -- which just makes it worse, doesn't it?

Check Your Golf Backswing With This Simple Golf Drill

This article about the best golf backswing gives golfers a simple exercise to check the position they get into at the top of their backswing.

On the driving range I often see golfers swinging to the top of their backswing and stopping and trying to see if the golf club is positioned correctly. Naturally this is a very, very hard way to tell if the backswing is in "the slot" so to speak.

So if you've struggled to tell whether your backswing is correct then today I'm going to give you a great exercise that will allow you to quickly tell if your backswing is too upright, too flat or just right.

To do this exercise, all you have to do is swing back to the top of your backswing and stop and hold your backswing position for a second or so.

Then from this position, simply slowly loosen your grip and let the shaft fall down. And if the club hits you on the tip of your right shoulder that tells you that your golf backswing is in a good position. But if the club misses your body altogether that indicates that your backswing is too flat. And conversely if your club hits your head or neck that indicates that your swing is too upright.

If after doing this backswing exercise, you find that your top of the backswing position is not where it should be, then please don't do this:

Do not try to manipulate what is happening near the top of your backswing to get the club in a good position, because you must understand that the golf swing is a chain reaction. Let me explain that some more by looking at what happens when you impact the golf ball:

The impact position you get into when you swing is a result of the downswing position that you were in.
The downswing position you get into when swinging is a result of how you transitioned from your backswing position to the downswing.
The top of your backswing position you get into is a result of the position half way into your backswing.
The position you get into half way into your backswing is the result of how you took the club away.
And finally, the way you took the club away is largely a result of your setup.

So you see, you can't take one position in your golf swing and try and fix that because the positions that you got into before that determined the future positions. Instead what you need to do is systematically work on getting each phase of the swing the best it can be, working from the setup, take away and on from there. If you do that you'll naturally and automatically get into a great top of the swing position.

How You Use Your Arms In The Golf Swing

One thing I'm really seeing on tour, and am personally working on is learning how to use the arms in the golf swing. It seems the modern swing is a very connected, arms and torso together type of golf swing. I have found this makes it much easier to be consistent, and be able to go at it as hard as you want, and not hit it "off the planet" like an arms-only swing would.

When you think of golf swing connection, it is more of the lead, or left arm for a right-handed golf. But the right arm definitely comes in towards the body (hip) in the downswing.

I know for me, my left arm lefts my upper chest right away in the takeaway, and it needs to feel snug throughout most of the golf swing. The only spot it won't would be at the very top of your backswing, depending on if you have a higher arm plane, or flatter like Hogan had.

If you can think of swinging your arms is if the are a unit with your body, not independent, you'll be surprised how much power and consistency you have. It seems counter-intuitive, but it's not. Try throwing a punch with just your arm, then put your body into it. Which one is more powerful.

For some golfers, it can also be a feel of your shoulders controlling the swing, not your hands and arms. Your legs are your contact to the ground, providing a stable base, and your shoulders drive your swing. That doesn't mean over the top coming down, but it means your hands, arms and shoulders move with your torso (core) throughout your golf swing, not independently.

Putting a clubhead cover under both armpits and hitting partial shots will give you a really good feel for this type of golf swing. Once you learn how to use your arms in your golf swing, you will have loads of power, and be more consistent.

Discover Why PGA and LPGA Professionals Are Talking About Michael Breed’s New Putting Aid.

I just got my hands on this new Putting Aid. It’s called
the Putting Cyclops. What got me interested in it when
I first saw it was that it adjusts to any putting stroke
instead of forcing you to a specific stroke like all other
similar putting aids. Also the fact that Michael Breed
endorses it certainly helped as he seems like the kind of
guy wouldn’t just endorse junk.

I used it a few sessions now, and I definitely see an
improvement. The problem that a lot of us have is that we
follow the putter head when we putt. This creates an
inconsistent swing and an unpredictable putt. What the
Putting Cyclops does is cover your putter so you can only
see the ball. “Keep Your Eye On The Ball” After practicing
with the putter hidden you stop that irritating habit of
watching the putter and you start to build a consistent
stroke by building muscle memory. It works really fast as
after just a few sessions I already have improved my putting.

Putting is the best way to shave strokes. When you stop 3-4
putting and start 1-2 putting you can easily shave 10+
strokes off your game.

Check out this video to see how it works:

Golf Tournaments

Golf tournaments today are requiring a more sophisticated approach. There are many different golf tournament formats, and some of the oddest are played at company outings, golf association play days and the like. If you are involved with a non-profit organization, chances are you have been approached by people who specialize in hosting charity golf tournaments. Charity golf tournaments are extremely popular ways for people to raise money. If you want to experience the real action of golf, then golf tournaments are where it's at.

Golf events are superior fundraising, client hosting and community/membership appreciation tools. The BIG profit in every golf tournament comes directly from "partnerships". Marketing your golf event correctly will give you the "real edge" you need to succeed. Whether you are watching a major tournament of pros or involved in a local event, golf tournaments are the best way to enjoy golf. Maybe you even have what it takes to play and earn the respect of your golfing friends, not to mention the money you can make by winning.
From small club events to large state or national events, golf tournaments are the best way to improve your golf game and enjoy the action of competition. People who are in charge of putting together special golf tournaments and events always try to provide great prizes and gifts for their golf outing. Obviously though, the owner of the golf course would have a very difficult time handing over a check for an amount like that. Usually corporate golf gifts like logo golf balls are given before or after a golf tournament.

If you're a sponsor for a golf tournament, you can add your business logo to the golf award or golf promotional item. Not only are such promotional golf products practical and useful, but they also result in more visibility for your company. These golf awards, golf prizes and logo golf gifts are used and valued by your clients and colleagues long after they receive them. A golf gift or golf award with your company logo gets recognition.

The best of companies deserve the best of corporate golf gifts. Choose the perfect promotional golf product for your next corporate golf promotion or choose your next custom golf giveaway for your next golf tournament. Choose unique golf trophies and awards for your next golf tournament, charity golf outing or golf league. Planning a successful charity golf tournament is demanding.

Considering a tournament director needs to allow at least 6-9 months to properly plan -- the return on investment calculated in time, money and used resources is extremely low. When tournament directors make giant leaps in their bottom line from one year to the next, no one asks if I know
WHY our system worked that made the money. The relationship between sponsor and tournament has peeked. You've just added "financial stagnation" to your tournament. The BIG profit in every golf tournament comes directly from "partnerships".

Eliminate Fat Golf Shots For Good And Play Your Best Gof

Now, a few reasons why you may be hitting fat golf shots is because your swing is too steep, your wrists are releasing too early, or your weight is stuck too far on your back foot or right side as you are trying to hit the golf ball.  Once you know which of these is your problem, you can work on whatever is necessary to fix it and then will be able to eliminate fat shots and have better contact.

If your golf swing is too steep, you'll have a tendency to hit shots a bit heavy or fat.  When the golf club swings down too vertically with a narrow swing arc it's harder to catch the golf ball cleanly on the club face.  To combat a steep swing, try to feel yourself swinging the golf club more around your body.  At the top of your golf swing, the club should be right over the tip of your right shoulder.  If the club is too steep, it will be too far over your neck or head.  In order to round out your swing plane, you may want to feel more of a baseball swing.  You can take practice swings by starting the club out in front of you a couple feet above the ground.  Then, as you make these practice swings, you'll be able to get your swing plane flatter and more around your body as opposed to too steep.

The second reason fat shots may be happening is because of an early release with your wrists in your downswing.  This problem can actually cause fat and thin shots.  It's very difficult to catch the golf ball solidly when the wrists release too early in the golf downswing.  The proper position at impact should consist of your hands leading slightly as you hit the golf ball.  This will allow to strike the ball first as opposed to hitting the ground behind it.  All good golfers have a big separation in their downswing between their right wrist and their right shoulder.  You want to swing down with your arms on the downswing but still maintain the lag or angle from your club shaft to your right forearm.

This is really not that complicated.  If your wrists release early, the golf club shaft and your right arm becomes a straight line.  Instead of doing this, try to hold the angle between the club shaft and your right forearm and you'll clip the golf ball perfectly with solid contact every time.

Now in a good golf swing, there should also be a proper weight shift.  On the backswing, your weight shifts to your right side.  On the forward swing or downswing, your weight will shift back to the front or left side.  If you move too far back laterally on your backswing, you may have a harder time getting back to the golf ball at impact.  It's important to be right in line with the golf ball at impact when you're hitting it.  Generally, if you get too far ahead of the ball you'll hit thin shots.  The opposite is also true with hitting fat shots.  Behind too far behind the ball causes your club head to bottom out too early in the swing arc and you'll hit the ground first.  To combat this problem, try and make a correct weight shift on your backswing.  This way it will be easier for you to come back to the ball in the correct position and hit the ball with solid contact.

If you're active and also take part in some type of organized activity the body will certainly burn a lot more energy as well as raise its metabolic rate during this time.

Furthermore, when these types of actions are usually resistance-training activities (dumbbells, lines, gentle weight loads, weight), after that with time you may construct several muscle tissue. Another advantage of such routines will probably be higher strength about the program. So as opposed to squirting your own callaway x-22 irons shots close to around the back again eight due to the fact you're exhausted, you can have identify accuracy and reliability entering the 18th. Imagine, we all actually Shed muscle tissue as we grow older. The good news is it may be restricted or halted.

Prior to We give you the answer, let's consider just how this kind of affects the swing action. Fundamentally, inside the golf swing a person create membership head speed. That club mind velocity may be the result of making spinning power, which usually we establish because torque. To create twisting, the actual muscle tissues of the physique have to be versatile, robust, as well as effective.

Right now guess what? For those who have much less muscle, what do you think will eventually your own power outputs and golf club brain speed? The answer is they are going to reduce. It's no surprise that they've created senior shafts with numerous contracts. Here is the golf suppliers make an effort to cope with this issue.

It can require a daily commitment; however the time period is quite little, regarding 5 to 10 minutes per day. Thus once again, consider: Could it be well worth investing A few min's each day upon overall flexibility to offer the golf swing you need? We bet most of you would solution yes.

Through a sequence golfing workout routines, a mature person can easily improve their overall flexibility, increase their strength, and create much more strength. All of which cause a better swing action. Everything is required can be a small amount of time and energy.

Golf Practice Drills to Cure that Slice

The golf slice is one of the most common golf swing faults.  For right handed golfers, the golf slice is a golf shot that starts left of the target and finishes right of the target.

There are several critical golf practice drills that can help you fix the golf slice rather quickly by instilling the proper movements in your golf swing and giving you the right "feeling" of a well-hit golf shot.

Here are two fantastic golf slice drills recommended by top PGA instructors.  Perform these golf practice drills for a few minutes then return to your normal swing.   You will be amazed at how quickly your golf slice is fixed!

RIGHT FOOT BACK GOLF SLICE DRILL
Corrects the golf slice caused by out to in swings and encourages proper in to square to in swing path.
1.Perform this drill at half-speed using a 7-iron and teed ball.
2.Take narrow stance, then pull your right foot back 1 foot.
3.Swing along IN-SQUARE-IN swing path and make contact with the ball.  Do not worry about distance, but focus on hitting a solid, straight golf shot.
4.Hit 5 to 10 shots, while noting your swing path through to release and finish positions of swing.
5.Remove the tee and hit several solid, straight golf shots at half speed off the ground with the right foot back.
6.As you feel comfortable with your golf shots, gradually bring your right foot back even with your left foot.
7.Re-create the same "feel" of a well struck golf shot as you gradually increase the speed of your swing.

BACK TO TARGET GOLF SLICE DRILL
Corrects the golf slice by encouraging IN-SQUARE-IN swing path and club release
1.Perform this golf slice drill at half-speed with 7-iron and teed ball.
2.Select your target and assume normal setup.

4.Swing along body line and hit 5 to 10 shots. Note that in this setup you will have a clear, IN-SQUARE-IN swing path.
5.Return to your normal golf swing.

I hope you like the tips and daily golf practice routines to lower you golf score.

Florida - The Ultimate Golfing Theme Park

Whilst Florida is famous for its family entertainment, celebrated attractions, great shopping, deep sea fishing, world class restaurants and exciting nightlife, it's also the home to the Best Golf Courses the world has to offer with the perfect blend of courses for keen amateurs and experienced golfers - not to mention miniature golf for the kids.

With more than 1,400 perfectly manicured courses (that's more golf courses than in any other US state), Florida is the ultimate destination for any golfer; there is absolutely nowhere else in the world like it when it comes to the perfect golf course.
However, having so many courses catering for every conceivable taste can be mind boggling.
Where's the best place to play?

As you might expect, different regions within Florida have different types of courses; for example, courses around Orlando tend to have more natural hills than those to the south. Temperatures can also vary a lot between locations.
So, here's a summary of the major Florida golfing regions to help you decide where to go:

Orlando

Orlando has a huge number of golf resorts, including the one in Walt Disney World. But don't fret if a Disney golf package isn't for you, there are plenty of other options.
The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort has a total of 45 holes of golf. The Old Course has three nines and The New Course is Jack Nicklaus' tribute to the great old links at the home of golf: St Andrews in Scotland. The resort also has plenty of things for any non-golfers in you party so there's no need for them to feel left out (and perhaps you can spend more time on the course!).
If chain resorts aren't your thing, you could take a look at Bay Hill or the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge for a more low-key experience.

South Florida

South Florida is the region most commonly associated with Florida golfing. It's got the PGA National in West Palm Beach, the Boca Raton Golf and Spa, Doral in Miami and loads more beside... just in the eastern half of the region! The most popular resort on the Gulf coast is the Ritz-Carlton in Naples but the South Seas resort in Captiva is popular, followed by resorts in Fort Myers, Cape Coral and the Gulf islands.
While there are a multitude of major resorts, there are also plenty of public golf clubs within a small area that tend to have much less competition for tee times than the most popular clubs (particularly in high season), so you'll have plenty of options.

Emerald Coast

Also known as the 'Panhandle', the Emerald Coast stretches along the northeast of Florida and covers Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Panama City. This region may not be as well known as Orlando and the south but it is definitely becoming more popular.
The best known resort in the area is the Hilton Sandestin, which has more golf courses than you can shake a club at, but The Resorts at Pelican Beach is also excellent.

Florida Keys

The Keys at the southernmost tip of the state offer some of the finest Golf Courses in Florida.
Cheeca Lodge features a beautiful nine-hole executive golf course where you can enjoy a challenging game of golf on their beautifully manicured, par-three executive course. Alternatively, the Key Colony Beach Golf & Tennis club in the Middle Keys has small greens but generous fairways as there is no rough. The Lower Keys has more typical municipal courses.
Finally, the Key West Golf Club, located in the heart of Key West, is the only Caribbean golf course in the United States.

From top to bottom, Florida offers the best quality golf of any destination in the world. Nearly every exit off a highway leads directly to an unimaginable golfing experience, but planning is crucial. Look at all your options before you set off and your trip will almost surely be more enjoyable because of your research. Fail to plan and you risk missing out on a lot of fun.

Effective Golf Training Exercises To Improve Performance

If you are starting to play golf after leading a primarily sedentary lifestyle then you are going to observe that it is going to be relatively tough for you to just rush out and play and entire 18 hole round of golf without you having effective golf training exercises before hand. On the other hand, if you have been playing for a while you are probably in much better physical form, but overall your golf game will be very much determined by your level of physical fitness. If you are in great shape physically, in terms of flexibility, strength and endurance you will be adept to play a much better game than someone who is in lesser physical shape.

Golf training exercises should focus on increasing flexibility at the same time that you work to improve strength in order to have the finest overall physical form possible in order to play. This means that you want to work to build lean muscle, rather than bulky muscles. The key differences is the amount of flexibility that the muscles offer. Bulky muscles tend to be stronger, yet at the same time they are not as flexible which will significantly confine your ability to twist appropriately while you are swinging the ball. Nevertheless, building lean muscle is not impossible, but will take a mindful effort.

The majority of people who are working to build muscle strength tend to build muscle mass automatically. This is generally because they are lifting large amounts of weights. Rather to build lean muscles you need to work to build repetitions of lower weight weights. This will permit you to improve your muscle strength, while enabling you to work in direction of building the lean and slender muscles that are better for your overall golf game. Refrain from the urge to lift weights that are heavier than ten pounds because this will result in bulky muscles rather than lean muscles.

Effective golf training exercises work to keep your body as flexible as possible. This means you ought to guarantee that you are stretching together ahead of and after playing golf to make sure that you are taking suitable care of your body. If you do not stretch then you can find yourself awfully sore after a game and regretting playing. Just stretching for as little as five minutes ahead of and after a round of golf will guarantee that you are able to always play without any troubles and with no feeling as if you are spending more time stretching than playing golf.

As you are playing golf, it is very important to take into account that you are repeatedly out in the very hot sunlight. For this reason, you ought to always guarantee that you take some water with you to make certain that you stay well hydrated during the game. If you become overheated or dehydrated, it will start to impede your game as well as cause you trouble in having the required endurance to play. Always drink plenty of water to make sure that you are able to go on playing. This is important no matter what form of exercise you are doing to ensure that you are as healthy as possible.

One more of the effective golf training exercises is walking. You should be making certain that you walk as much as possible. Golf may be a rather slow moving sport, however it does normally involve vast amounts of walking. You need to be able to walk great distances without losing your breath, or experiencing back or leg pain. These problems can really decrease the amount of time that you can play and could potentially cause you to have to quit playing a game in the middle of a course. This is never something that is pleasant so ensuring that you get plenty of walking exercise is necessary. If you have troubles with finding somewhere to walk then consider looking into a treadmill that will allow you to still get plenty of walking exercise even off the green.

A bit of careful planning and a tiny bit of carefully planned and executed exercise can go a very long way in direction of helping you improve your golf game dramatically. If you want to play golf as more than just messing around on a green, you will need to improve your physical fitness levels and you will be rather amazed at the benefits that it provides to your health as well as your overall golf swing.

Golf training exercises, however, are much more that could be summed up in one article. Moreover, there is an abundance of golf training exercise programs online that will help you achieve your goals. Check our website http://golftrainingandfitnessexercisereviews.com/ for reviews of golf training exercises that you could purchase to help enhance your fitness and thus your golf game.

8 Places to Find Golf Employment

The popularity of golf has really taken off in recent years. To accommodate the many people who play, take lessons, watch, or read about the sport, golf employment has become much more readily available, in a variety of interesting businesses.

Golf courses: There are many more golf courses in operation today than there was twenty years ago, and every one of them offers dozens of golf
employment opportunities. In order to run smoothly, golf courses need groundskeepers to care for the turf, operators and technicians for the equipment needed on a golf course, instructors to provide training for the golf course's members, and managers to make sure everything runs smoothly. Additionally, many golf courses have clubhouses and golf stores, both of which require sufficient staff in order to provide members with their conveniences.

Golf resorts: Golfing vacations are becoming more and more popular, as the explosion of golf resorts has indicated. A golf resort requires all of the same staff as a golf course does, except that a golf resort is often bigger and therefore requires more employees. Additionally, a golf resort needs a larger establishment to house their guests, and with a bigger building and more services comes a larger staff: housekeepers, front desk employees, and an expanded kitchen staff all contribute to the success of a golf resort.

Golf schools: As golf becomes more and more popular, more schools are opening every day to teach the sport. These schools are a wonderful source of golf employment for those who would rather teach the sport as the next best thing to playing it themselves.

Golf stores: There are a variety of retail businesses that sell golf equipment,
clothing and accessories. Some stores, such as those small stores located in golf course clubhouses, may sell only products that relate to golf. Other stores, such as large sports stores, sell equipment and clothing for a variety of different sports, golf included. Both types of stores offer excellent opportunities for golf employment, as they both have a need for sales associates who know about golf well enough to give their customers the best service possible.

Community centers: Believe it or not, your neighborhood community center may be able to provide you with golf employment. Community centers frequently offer residents fun, seasonal programs, such as classes on art, dance, and golf. Even if your community center doesn't already offer a golf program, you may be able to get a job just by suggesting one.

Junior high or high schools: Extracurricular activities are an important part of most junior high and high schools. Whether you are a teacher or just a golf enthusiast living in the area, you may be able to score a
part time job by suggesting golf lessons or a golf club as an after school activity.

Golf publications: Most people wouldn't think of it, but golf publications offer another source of golf employment. There are at least a half-dozen golf magazines on the shelves of any well-stocked bookstore, and every one of them needs writers, editors, and photographers who know all about golf.

On your own: Golf is an industry that leaves plenty of room for entrepreneurs. As an experienced golfer, you can offer private golf lessons, meeting your clients wherever they enjoy golfing the most. You can also translate your knowledge and experience into written form by publishing biographies about famous golfers, travel guides that discuss the pros and cons various golf resorts around the world, or even how-to manuals for golf enthusiasts who want to learn more about the sport.

As you can see, there are many places of employment for golf enthusiasts. The golf industry is so popular that anyone with the right education and experience will never have to worry about having reliable golf employment.

A Brief History of Golfing

One of the most elegant and prolific games of this century, golf has a fascinating trail of history running behind. The word ''golf'' is actually a modification of the Dutch word "kolf" which simply means a "bat," "stick,'' or "club". If defined literally, the game is all about striking a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes while complying with the rules of the game. It is one of those rare games which do not require playing area; rather golf is played on golf "courses." The competitions of golf are based on stroke play, where the individual or team posts with lowest score on the most individual for a full round, wins the game. Some other team games of golf such as fourball have been pioneered, and are played either using matchplay format or stroke. Several alternative styles of golf playing have been introduced like disc golf and miniature golf. However, it is still interesting to find out the History of golf.

Most scholars agree with the "fact" that the Scots were first to popularize the game of golf. However, there exists no common consensus in the history of golf about the inventors of the classy sport. The records suggest a golf-like game was played in a city called Loenen aan de Vecht, Netherlands, on 26 February 1297. The Dutchmen played this game with leather ball and a stick. Actually, the game required the players to hit the ball into a target situated several hundreds of meters away.

The emphasis on golf's Scottish origin is contributed to the fact that the game was mentioned in two 15th-century Acts of the Scottish Parliament. Further, there are evidences that in A.D 1456, the first game of golf was played at Bruntsfield Links, in Edinburgh, Scotland, as recorded in the archives of The Royal Burgess Golfing Society.

There are some reports which record evidences of golf from continental Europe. Different forms of sports similar to golf were played in 14th century in the countries of France, Belgium, and Holland, apart from Scotland. However, the game was introduced in England by a keen Scottish Baron, James VI, after succeeding on the English throne in 1603.

In the early years of golf, the players never thought of forming a club or society until in 1744 a group of Edinburgh golfers united into a club named Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers. It was here that the first 13 rules of golf were drawn up for an annual contest. In 1766, Royal Blackheath Golf Club was formed in England - the first golf club formed outside Scotland.

Although traces of golf can be encountered in 18th century United States, however the game was still waiting to be popularized. The history of golf in North America began with its roots in Canada. In 1873, The Royal Montreal Club was formed, which was followed by the Quebec Golf Club in 1875 and the golf club in Toronto a year later. It was in 1888 that golf re-emerged in the United States. For the first time the "three-hole golf course" was built in Yonkers, New York by a Scotsman, John Reid on a 30-acre site. From a modest beginning, golf emerged as the new national pastime in the United States.

In the recent times golf has become a complete spectators' game, involving professionals at different levels and amateur tours across various terrains of the world. Not only the game, but the golf players -Tiger Woods, Annika Sorenstam and Jack Nicklaus to name a few, have gained worldwide recognition as great sports personalities. Engrossingly huge sponsorships and new technologies being developed to assist golfers and dedication and raw talent from the emerging players all suggest a luminous new chapter in the "history of golf".

How To Optimally Prepare For The Golf Season With Golf Fitness Exercises

The PGA Golf Tour is in full swing and for many parts of the country and world the golf season is upon us. Many of you are anxious to dust off the golf clubs and get out to the golf course for your first round of golf. A question that may be on your mind is how do I get ready? How do I knock off 6 months of rust on my golf swing, feel comfortable with my driver on the first tee, and post a good golf score at the end of the round?

All questions that are asked often in the world of professional golf and this article will provide you with the answers. Answers to these questions and many more fall under the category of how do I prepare myself for the golf season?

Interesting enough if the guidelines from this article are followed the golf score you post for your first round of the year may be lower than you ever expected, the distance of your drives may well be farther than you imagined, and the number of accurate golf shots you hit may be even more surprising!

The answer to all the questions on how to get ready for the upcoming golf season centers on preparation. Preparation is the key to a successful first round of golf and every round you play in the upcoming golf season.

We all probably understand the definition of preparation but lets take a quick look in order for us to all be on the same page. Preparation can be defined as the work or planning involved in making something or somebody ready or putting something together in advance (Encarta Dictionary, MSN.com).

A definition that sheds light on getting ready for the upcoming golf season. Using the above definition we can see the process of preparing for the upcoming golf season does not begin 10 minutes before your first tee time, but rather in advance of when you get ready to hit driver off the first tee. Bottom line the process of getting ready for the upcoming golf season begins weeks or even months before your' first round of golf of the year.

To have a successful first round of golf and a good season of golf you must begin the process of preparation well in advance of your first time on the golf course. If you look at professional golfers they begin the process of preparing for the upcoming golf season months in advanced. I would suggest doing the same. Develop a plan that will get your golf swing ready once the snow thaws, the birds are chirping, and the greens are ready for putting.

What does such a plan contain? This type of "golf preparation plan" would contain drills,
exercises, and programs to improve and prepare every aspect of your golf game. If we break down the game of golf into categories the "golf program" becomes much easier to understand. Obviously, we have the different shots made on the course. A brief breakdown would indicate the need to implement swing drills to work on the full swing, short game, and putting. We could obviously get a little more detailed than a breakdown of the golf game into three different categories, but lets' keep it simple.

Now that we have this breakdown of the game of golf into full swing, short game, and putting the next step is to implement a series of drills to work on each of these aspects. Simply put I would suggest devising a series of drills to work on each part of the golf game/swing. This can easily be accomplished by purchasing a few books or videos from one of the top-teaching professionals in the world of golf.

Each one of these qualified golf instructors have numerous materials available to help you with your golf swing. And if you are one of those individuals that lives in a cold climate and is unable to get to a driving range or practice facility, no need to worry. Most all of the instructional videos/books available have drills that can be performed in the comfort of your own home.

At this point we have a couple of bases covered in the "preparation plan" for the upcoming golf season. We understand preparation is key to a successful year on the golf course, the "preparation plan" begins well in advance of the first tee time of the year, and a portion of the plan consists of swing drills. This brings us to final part of your "preparation plan" for the upcoming golf season.

This part of the plan centers on the implementation of golf fitness exercises to go along with your swing drills. We must understand the concept of your body and the golf swing. The golf swing is executed in its' entirety by your body. In order for your body to execute the golf swing correctly. It requires you to have certain levels of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power within it. If you are lacking in any one of these physical areas compensations will occur in your golf swing.

It comes down to this: In order to be prepared for the upcoming golf season and to improve your golf swing. The implementation of golf fitness exercises geared towards developing your body around the golf swing is necessary. This type of program will prepare the body for the golf swing and the upcoming golf season.

To summarize, the process of preparing yourself for the upcoming golf season begins with a "preparation plan". This plan begins weeks to months in advance of your first time out on the golf course. Additionally, this "preparation plan" for the upcoming golf season contains a series of golf
training drills to prepare your golf swing. The golf training drills break down the golf game into three sections; full swing, short game, and putting. A series of swing drills are implemented to work on each one of these parts of your golf game. In addition golf fitness exercises are implemented into the golf-training program to develop your body around your golf swing. Put all these pieces together and your first time out on the golf course this year should be an enjoyable one.

Golf Basics - What You Need To Know

The rules in golf are fairly simple if you already know them, however explaining them could take a while. If you are not very familiar with the basics, the first thing you would need to know would be the main objective of the game: you have to hit the ball at the start or at the tee into the hole for every section in the course's 18 sections or 18 holes.

The hole is located on the green, which is a piece of short and well-maintained grass. Once you are already on the green, you need to use your putter, which is the club that has a slab-like end, instead of your other normal clubs.

Every hole has a specified target number of shots to be done from the tee to the hole. This is called the par. For instance, if you are on a par 5 hole, you would need to get the ball from the tee to the hole in five shots or less. If you were able to do it with exactly the number of shots specified, then your score would be a par. If you did it in one less than the par, your score would be a birdie. If you did it in two less than the par, your score would be an eagle. Three below par would be called an albatross and the best score would be a hole in one, which happens if you were able to get the ball from the tee to the hole in one hit.

On the other hand, if you scored one more than the par then that would be a bogey. Two more than the par would be a double bogey. If you have tried for more that 12 shots, then you forfeit the hole. You would then have to move to the next hole.

Eventually, as you go through the game, there would be various hazards that you would have to deal with. If your ball lands on the rough, which is an area on the course that has long grass, you could find it difficult to move on from that area. There could also be trees on the rough of some courses, which could make them harder to get out of. The worst hazards would be the lakes and the ponds, because if you hit the ball into one, it would cost you the shot you took and another shot as a penalty, which would make it harder to reach par.

No shortcut in golf

Golf is known as green opium, so that millions of fans around the world are so mesmerized and not weary. Why is it so much magic ?I personally think that there are two main reasons, it contains life's two most exciting things, troubles of failure and the desire for success. The so-called failure, does not mean always lose, but always can not achieve their targets set by ouselves.

In short, the next hit Ping Rapture Driver should be better, but it often requires a process to go through again and again of the failure and disappointment, keep on fighting, from quantitative to qualitative change, pleasantly surprised to hotels specifically catering.

Perhaps, but first you practice before each swing has a clear objective, that is, which side will hope to improve. Are you the basic principles of stroke have a deep understanding of the results appear on a variety of circumstances and causes? Helpful Hints to Lower your Golf Score

No matter how good you feel out on the green, chances are that you can always use some help to lower your golf score. There are many easy things you can do to help lower your golf score. Here are some things that every player needs in order to lower their golf score.

Helpful Hint 1: Feel the Desire

Sure you want to improve your golf score, but are you willing to do the work? Perhaps the most important thing you will need before you can improve your golf game and lower your score is to get the kind of desire that results in action. You will need the desire that allows you to change your schedule in order to accommodate more practice time, and to put yourself in the vulnerable position of asking for help and guidance from more seasoned players.

Did you know that all sports, including golf, have a lot to do with your mind? That is, your success in a particular field or sport has a lot to do with how you feel about it. If you feel good, the chances are greater that you will play good. Work on any negative attitudes that you may have and watch yourself become a better player.

Chances are that your day is already riddled with spare moments that you could put to good use by practicing your putting. You can practice your putting at the office, at home, even when you travel. Learning to take control over the putter is a great skill that will improve your game drastically.

Make sure you get to know the terrain you play in. Getting to know your turf well allows you to putt and drive accordingly, thus improving your golf score. It might even help you to experiment with different clubs to see which one works best on your golf course. Getting to know your turf is an easy and effective way to lower your golf score.

Helpful Hint 5: Ask For Advice, and Take It

There's something about playing golf that brings out the competitive streak in just about all players. But instead of practicing in private, why not instead partake in the wisdom and experience of other players? The way to become a better player is not just practice, but to learn from other more seasoned players as well. There will always be another player with more experience. Ask for advice and take it.

Hint 6: Whatever You Do, Stay Cool

In most cases, the best players are those that have fun. The last thing you want to do is to become an overly competitive player who cannot partake in the inherent joy of the game. Keep your ego in check and don't be a show-off on the green. Stay cool, relaxed, but focused on playing well and having fun. That's the only real way to play.

Easy Tips For Fixing A Golf Slice

If you are looking to fix a golf slice, there are a few helpful tips which can get you on the right track.

Adjust your setup, this includes strengthening your grip, fixing your alignment, and making sure your golf ball position is correct.  A stronger grip will help you combat your slice.  Make sure to turn your hands more to the right on the grip so that the two Vs or lines that form between your thumbs and forefingers point up towards your right shoulder.  This is a strong grip.  If the lines between your thumbs and forefingers point up towards your chin, your grip is more neutral.  Making your grip stronger may not completely fix your slice, but it should help reduce it quite a bit.

It is good to be aware of your alignment when you set up to the golf ball.  You want to make sure the line of your feet, hips, shoulders, and even your forearms are all parallel to your target line.  Many times golfers will incorrectly align themselves on the golf course which will cause problems in direction of their golf shots.  The most common error for a slicer is to align too much to the left with their body and feet.  This is a compensation which will actually make your slice worse and you'll lose a lot of distance.  An open stance will promote being open at impact thus leading to a weak shot without much power.

It can be helpful to work on your alignment on the driving range by putting an alignment stick or club down pointing just parallel left of your target line, in between your golf ball and your feet.  That way, you can make sure your feet are aligned correctly by just making sure they are both the same distance away from the club laying down.  From there, once you have your feet set, just make sure your hips and shoulders are lined up over them.

Playing the golf ball too far forward in your stance can promote a slice but playing it too far back can cause other problems.  The ideal and correct place to play the ball with all your full swing iron shots is 3 quarters of the way up in your stance.  The ball should be halfway between the middle of your stance and your left or front heel.  With your driver, it's good to play the ball directly in line with your left or front heel.  With fairway woods or hybrids, play the golf ball just slightly back off of your left heel.  When you are chipping or pitching, you'll want to play the ball back in your stance however as this is a totally different shot with a different objective.

Now, many slicers have a tendency to open up their body too early before they've actually hit the golf ball.  The problem with this is opening up the upper body drags the clubface across the golf ball which puts a left to right sidespin on the golf ball.  The left to right sidespin produces a slice or left to right ball flight when it is traveling in the air.  By keeping your back to the target longer on your downswing, you'll be able to swing the golf club down more easily on the proper swing path and straighten out your shots.  This will produce a more in to out swing path which is simply the opposite path of a golf slice.

Clone Golf Clubs - Are They Worth It?

Let's face it, golf can be a pretty costly hobby to get into. And whilst no-one wants to pay any more than they need to, golfers worldwide want to ensure that the tools they use are going to enable them to play to their full potential, thus maximizing their enjoyment of the game, not to mention success.

This is where clone golf clubs have found a significant part of the golf club market.

With the quality and performance meeting the exacting standards of their branded cousins these days, there is no reason to feel concerned that your value-conscious purchase will be anything like substandard. Value, in your golf club purchase, does not mean you have to compromise at all these days.

Certainly, clone golf clubs are now manufactured to the same high standards as the better known brands, with great care being taken from design, through materials sourcing to manufacture and delivery.

From a technological point of view, just as much energy is expended as you would expect for the more well known brands. Yet clone golf clubs are followers of design and not innovators as such. The leading brands set the standards and the clone brand manufacturers follow.

It's important to recognize that your financial outlay, even though it might be lighter on your pocket, will be still buying an excellent product. It's just that costs are typically between 50-75% lower than the corresponding brands. Since most manufacturers used shafts and grips from the same sources, it's down to the club head where the differences are seen.

Remember too, that manufacturers of clone golf clubs have to be very careful to observe patent and copyright laws, so there will be differences.

Legitimate clone golf club manufacturers produce clubs which have similar design elements to branded clubs, but are considered "distinct and different" enough, without breaching relevant registered patents.

In fact, clone golf club manufacturers work closely with the leading brands to ensure that they fight off the worse threat to their industry, that of counterfeit goods, illegally branded and passed off as originals - an increasing problem in many industries.

So, why would you ever buy a well-known brand, if on value and performance terms clone golf clubs are as good as they seem? Here are a few reasons:-

1. You get leading-edge technology, design and materials innovation.

2. You might just feel that you need to have a set of well-known clubs in your bag for reason other than performance, such as status when golfing with your company president.

3. It might just be that some players get extra confidence by spending all that cash on a branded product, in the belief that they will play better using these clubs.

Unlikely, but true!

Enough reason for you? To pay double or more for a quality of club that is second to none and with a posh and well-known brand name? Maybe - it is, of course, up to you.

In truth, as long as you have a reasonable set of clubs, it's much more likely to be the technique you use, rather than something that costs twice the price, that makes the difference. Clone golf clubs will, without question save you money, without any compromise on quality.

So, if you are considering your next set of clubs right now, but can't really justify the most well known, then don't feel that you will be less well served if your purchase is for a brand new set of clone golf clubs, rather than something with a name you might see more on your TV screen.

Understanding Golf Etiquette

Golf is an age-old game that's rich in culture and tradition. Playing golf involves the ability to adhere to strict rules of etiquette, and that includes your choice of attire. If you respect and happily comply with the rules of etiquette, you will be welcomed to play at proper golf courses.

On the other hand, golfers who shun the rules and consider the etiquette to be too stodgy will have to settle with a golf course that meets their lower level of standards.

Public and private golf courses enforce etiquette rules to some degree, and nearly all courses will hold restrictions on golf apparel. The use of proper golf attire is considered to be one of the most important areas of etiquette. Collared shirts, long pants and proper golf shoes are the most common of golf course dress code requirements. These rules come into play on the links and in the clubhouse, and respectful players are happy to oblige.

Arriving promptly for your tee time is one of the primary rules of golf etiquette. Plan on being at the course at least twenty to thirty minutes before you will tee off. This will give you plenty of time to park the car, get changed, buy extra balls, get a cart, practice and warm up. Don't expect to be able to arrive five minutes before tee time and immediately hit the driving range.

Another important rule of golf etiquette is a sign of modern times. Cell phones and pagers are not welcome on the links. Leave your phone in the car or in your locker. If you absolutely must bring the phone along in case of emergency, turn the ringer off and tuck it into your bag.

Being mindful of other players is what golf etiquette is all about. Make sure that you have a clear understanding of how the other players in your group want to play. For example, ask if the first ready golfer should tee off first, or whether the golfer with the best score on the proceeding hole should lead the play. You'd be surprised at how easily you can offend a stranger if you join their group and don't play by their rules.

Golf requires precision and a great deal of concentration, so you must respect the other golfers' need for a quiet place to play. Golfers can be unforgiving if they think you've blown their big shot. Following golf etiquette requires your ability to keep quiet and stay out of the other golfers' direct line of vision. This can be a hard rule to follow, especially when you're having fun with your buddies, but it is golf etiquette in its most rudimentary form.

Golf isn't just a game; for many, it's a social springboard and a showcase of good breeding. If you enjoy playing a game of golf, you've got to respect the fact golf etiquette represents more than a persnickety dress code. It is culture and tradition that have been observed by generations. So put on your collared shirt and your chinos, tie up your golf shoes, and tee off with due respect.

Three Keys To Increase Distance With Your Golf Swing

For many golfers, a big concern is how to hit the ball farther.  Typically, a good swing with solid fundamentals will naturally allow you to hit the ball far provided you have good strength.  There are a few important keys that you can specifically work on to hit it farther.

The first key I recommend is having good angles in your setup or swing.  A good setup will have good knee flex and a correct bend from the hips with the weight on the balls of your feet.  A good setup is a critical component to not only swinging more on the correct path but also hitting it farther.  You want to have a good shoulder turn on the backswing where your shoulders turn a full 90 degrees.  This will allow you to swing the golf club over your shoulder and maintain good angles at the top of your backswing as well.  From there, you'll be in a powerful position to swing back down through the golf ball.

Second key is swing speed.  You want to make sure you are swinging fastest at the point of impact.  Many golfers make the mistake of rushing their backswing, making it too fast and then from their it is forced to slow down coming into the golf ball when it should be speeding up at this point.  One key on timing of your swing is the backswing should be three times as long as the downswing.  Tour players were studied and it was recorded that they all have this correct tempo where their backswing all are three times as long as their downswings.  Make sure not to try to swing too hard from the top of your backswing.  Often times golfers try to hit the ball too hard resulting in lots of problems when hitting the golf ball.  You want to have a nice and smooth transition and allow the swing speed to increase as you are nearing the impact position.  This will maximize your chances of hitting the ball longer and straighter.

Third key is creating lag in your swing.  You do this by hinging your wrists in the backswing which allows you to build up "leverage".  Then on the downswing your hands will actually lead into the golf ball before the club hits the ball.  With the hands slightly ahead at impact, you'll be assured of a solid strike which will make the golf ball travel farther.

Graphite Irons A Complete Overview

Unless οf course уου еnјοу thе game οf golf οr belong tο a golfing circle, hearing thе expression graphite irons mау sound јυѕt a lіttlе peculiar tο уου. Hοw саn graphite bе manufactured wіth metal οr vice-versa? Gain Confidence In Your Golf Putting Stroke

Your golf putting stroke is without question the most important asset in your golf game. If you consider yourself to be a fairly average golfer then you are probably shooting in the high 80's, 90's even 100 plus on the golf course. This is more than likely down to the number of putting strokes that you are taking on the golf course!

Touring professionals average one 3 putt every 36 holes! and average around 26 putts every 18 holes!

How many golf putting strokes do you average per round? I bet it is more than 26!!! Next time you are on the golf course make a note of how many putting strokes you make and how many times you 3 putt! and then consider how many strokes you could have actually saved purely through improving this area of your golf game!

Obviously it is vitally important to have a good solid and reliable golf putting technique to start with but the quickest way to
improve your putting performance is to gain confidence in your own golf putting stroke!

The best way to gain confidence in your putting performance is through experience and practice, so making time in your busy schedule to get out there on the golf course and especially on the
practice putting green is going to be the key to your success on the greens.

As time is always so precious, it is of course important that you are not wasting it by aimlessly hitting putts on the practice putting green without purpose, as this will get you nowhere fast.

So first you need to build a
solid putting technique that will give you a great foundation to work from and then put in the time and effort practicing this putting technique with some effective putting drills

Common golf mistakes in the golf course

Despite all the nuances with golf instruction and the numerous types of golf swings out there, the majority of golfers suffer from the same common golf mistakes such as improper grip, golf shot alignment and weight transfer. Below are a few golf tips to address these common golf mistakes.
Common Golf Mistake 1: Improper Grip

A common golf mistake for most golfers is to have either a too strong or too weak of a grip. Here are a few golf tips to set up the proper neutral golf grip recommended for the majority of golf shots (for right-handers):

• Take little finger of right hand and place it between index and middle finger of left hand (leading hand).

• Left hand thumb should fit in lifeline of right hand.
• When looking down at grip, knuckles of the left hand forefinger and middle finger are visible.
• Check that the creases of thumbs and forefingers point between right side of face and right shoulder.
Common Golf Mistake 2: Improper Golf Shot Alignment

A second common golf mistake is to not align properly to your target line when setting up for the golf shot. You can have a great golf swing, but if you line up incorrectly, you will have trouble reaching your target. So, here are a few
golf tips to line up properly for your shot, whether on the range or on the course.

For majority of golf shots, the alignment procedure should be the same. Aim your club face along the "target line" and position your body parallel to the target line along the "body line." To help visualize, think of standing along a railway line where the further rail is the target line to the target and the rail you are standing on is the body line.

It is useful to pick an intermediate target 1 to 2 feet in front of ball and first aim your club face to the intermediate target, then set up properly with your body.

Also, when practicing, create an "alignment station" using 2 parallel clubs and place the ball in the middle of the clubs. Use the two clubs as alignment aids for your target and body line.

Common Golf Mistake 3: Improper Weight Transfer

The third common golf mistake is to shift weight to left leg in backswing which naturally triggers weight shift to right leg in downswing. This weight transfer fault is called a "reverse pivot" and often results in poor golf shots. Conversely, proper weight transfer results in 80% of weight on inside of right foot at top of backswing and full weight shift to left leg at finish position.

To ingrain the proper weight transfer make sure that in the backswing, your body weight is kept on inside of right foot and the right knee remains in place. This sets up correct weight shift to left in downswing.

If you can properly address these three most common golf mistakes, you will be well on your way for a consistent, solid golf swing.

Golf Fitness Training - Build Muscle For A Better Swing

In the game of golf, having the ball go where you want it to is not always as easy as it looks. There are so many different elements that all have to come together to culminate in the perfect swing, golfers who aren't doing as well as other players are turning to golf fitness training to improve their game. One of the first things they learn is how to strengthen their legs in order to maintain balance during the swing.

The term golf fitness training conjures up a lot of different ideas like jogging or pumping iron when you play the sport, but what it really has to do with is conditioning the muscles you use to play golf with to improve your game. Not only does this type of training give you more power in your swing but also better accuracy. It also prevents pulled muscles and other injuries.

The reasoning behind completing a golf fitness training program is to strengthen the muscles that you only use for golf and rarely use any other time. Think about it like this. The way a golfer must turn and twist their back and legs aren't exactly natural, which is why this may be the only time you use these muscles. Don't be surprised if after nine holes you will be able to feel the pain in every muscle you need to work on.

Balance can be improved by using different muscles. Strength training the quads, the hamstrings and calves will also help improve your stance. If you combine the strength of your legs with solid upper arms and abdominals you will have more control over you balance during the stroke.

The back swing and the downswing are the parts of the swing where a golfer has to shift their feet. Ideally you want to hit the ball with your weight positioned over the right foot. Being able to do this will send you ball farther and with more control, but you really need stronger legs to maintain balance in order to accomplish this.

There are many easy exercises that can help someone who only plays golf once a week. A golf fitness program will explain these exercises, but it is up to you to take a few minutes everyday so that you can strengthen these muscles. For example, there are back muscles called lats that you use during your swing. A few minutes of pull-ups will strengthen them so they don't cramp up during the game. If you really do get into better shape by sticking to golf fitness, don't stop just because you aren't playing during the winter. Exercise year-round and you will begin to see that you can spend more time on the course playing instead of hurting.

A golf fitness training program is really only meant to improve your golf game, so the workouts are only twice a week and only last approximately twenty five minutes. But as with attempting any other exercise, talk to your doctor and see if you are in good enough shape to benefit from the program.
